Moving and relocating large-volume objects is nothing unusual in the industry. Digitalizing the moving route, which is part of the corporate application iShowroom, can help ensure a smooth relocation. This system allows simulating and pre-exploring the planned route in the form of a 3D model, ensuring safe and successful handling for the user.

Manufacturing companies that deal with large engineering products often face a key question: How to ensure efficient, seamless, and financially optimized transport of purchased equipment from the unloading site to the final installation position? Even specialized moving companies are not immune to extreme situations – there have been cases where it was necessary to cut a hole in the roof of the hall to move a pressing machine to the desired location.

Some time ago, we encountered this problem with our long-time customer from Germany, who specializes in the sale and rental of multi-ton industrial lasers. His products are distributed worldwide; however, customers often underestimated the precise planning of the moving route. This led to unpleasant situations where it was necessary to, for example, demolish door frames of the production hall. In an effort to prevent similar complications, this client established a so-called targeting technical team, which for a fee of several thousand euros traveled hundreds to thousands of kilometers to conduct detailed measurements directly on-site and subsequent evaluations at the company's headquarters.

Revolutionary solution for digitizing the moving route

In response to this issue, we developed a special module for digitizing the moving route, which we integrated into the corporate application iShowroom. This new system allows customers, after ordering a product, to walk through the route that the device will take from the starting position to its final placement.

The entire journey is spatially recorded in detail using a mobile device and subsequently converted into an interactive 3D model. This model not only identifies potential collision points but also takes into account the minimum required handling space around the device. Thanks to this precise data, the technical team at the company headquarters has a detailed visualization available and can optimally prepare for the specific moving operation.

The implementation of this innovative solution has not only brought significant time and cost savings but has also, in many cases, eliminated the need for physical checks by the technical team. Manufacturing companies can thus minimize risks and costs while ensuring a smooth installation process of their products for customers worldwide.
