For current digital tools, apart from their historical applications in pre-production and manufacturing processes, there has been a strong utilization for some time now in sales support and communication with the customer. Currently, the innovative tool is 3D e-commerce, which utilizes three-dimensional customized product models in communication with the customer.

This technology represents tremendous potential for the engineering industry. Its implementation can significantly influence how engineering companies present and sell their products. Thanks to it, customers can gain a much more detailed and realistic idea of what the product looks like, whether in the intermediate or final stage, how different customer changes will manifest, and how the product will appear in the place of use.

A pioneer in the approach and integration of available 3D technologies into a comprehensive whole is the company iShowroom, whose founder Filip Major was a guest on the MM Průmyslového spektra podcast. Together with his team, he specializes in the digitization of sales processes in the product offerings from both the manufacturing machines sector and construction and architecture, as well as premium consumer goods. They also have experience with a project focused on education and inclusion of children.

We talked with Filip Major about his professional journey, which led him to the idea of using available 3D tools in support of customer communication and how they can be utilized. We discussed the possibilities that these modern technologies bring and how they can be integrated into existing business tools of companies, both in the pre-production stage and, of course, in the context of supporting customer communication, presenting customized solutions, creating showrooms according to the client's vision in the context of the products being presented, and others that these 3D tools offer. In selected references, Filip Major demonstrated the possibilities of use, for example, in the field of production machines, but also consumer goods. A discussion about a tool for calculating machine throughput in real installation conditions was also interesting. It often happens that passageways are only resolved at the moment when the machine is to be installed, and one realizes that a few centimeters are missing for the machine to be properly delivered to the location. We also touched on the topic of avatars – guides that can take the form of a specific person and their voice, and this in all language variations of the world. Finally, we talked about the perspectives that 3D tools represent for his company, as well as the plans they have regarding their further development.
